Determination of Biomass in Spirulina Cultures by Photopette® Cell
An efficient method to determine the biomass of spirulina cultures with the Photopette®. The wavelength of 565 nm is used to determine the biomass concentration, 680 nm to measure the amount of chlorophyll a absorption in the Spirulina. This amount of absorbed light is proportional to the amount of Spirulina present. 750 nm is used to measure the apparent turbidity of the Spirulina.
